Dj Carmelo
Carmelo’s journey into house music began in the late 1980s, where his love for soul, funk, and R&B naturally evolved into a passion for the deeper, more soulful side of house. These influences remain at the heart of his sets today, with warm grooves and uplifting rhythms that connect the dancefloor to its soulful roots.
By the mid-90s, Carmelo was playing locally in and around Luton, quickly making his mark on the scene. From 2002 to 2007 he became best known for Bellini, his iconic Luton bar that established itself as a hub for soulful house lovers. During this time, Carmelo hosted and played alongside some of the genre’s finest, including Bobby & Steve, Paul ‘Trouble’ Anderson, Copyright, and Simon Dunmore—cementing his reputation as a true champion of the sound.
His passion has only grown stronger over the years. Recent highlights include appearances at The Shelter in Liverpool, Sound Suite Festival in Sardinia, and Mi Casa Su Casa. His soulful mixes have been featured on Centreforce Radio, Ultravegas, and D3EP Radio Network. Together with his long-time collaborator Stumpi Robertson, Carmelo also co-runs the Inspiration night, keeping the spirit of soulful house alive and thriving.
With decades of experience, an unshakable love for the music, and a dedication to spreading soulful vibes wherever he plays, Carmelo remains a respected figure and trusted selector in the local house music community.
